Its new years and we are going out to celebrate. Ok ya, it’s 4 pm.It was the only time we could get today. I’m any case I have to work early. I gave all my staff the day off tomorrow so they could go out and party while they are still young enough to enjoy it. Old cynics like me just want to sleep. Probably by 9 tonight. No ball drop in Times Square for me. It’s just another day in another year.
But let’s enjoy a nice dinner first.

And the Martinez. Gin, sweet vermouth and Maraschino. Good, but would be better with a touch more sweetness.
We are starting with the Arancini.
Nice and crispy deep-fried Risotto balls that were oh so gooey good in the middle. Really tasty.
Lets keep celebrating with a Passionfruit Maggie.
Tequila, Cointreau, passion fruit and lime go down way too easy. Be careful with this one lest you end up in a pile on the floor.
Merilynn decided on the Rigatoni Ragu.
in my opinion this is their best pasta dish. A rich meat Ragu with one of my favorite pastas. Ragu and Rigatoni are perfectly suited to each other. It’s a hearty dish. And it’s delicious
I am going with the duck.
It’s served on a bed of wilted spinach, mashed potatoes and a cauliflower puree, then topped off with a cherry sauce.
Ducks and cherry go so well together, the cherry bringing a beautiful tartness to the dish. All the accouterments were delicious. The duck was cooked very well, slightly rare. Unfortunately it was a bit on the tough side, which did take away from the overall quality of the dish.
A very nice meal to bring in 2026. Now, off to bed.
