We are out for a walk this morning and our destination is Yums.
Unfortunately not the greatest selection for me this morning.
We ended up picking up a Mango coconut and a Chocolate Raspberry.
I wouldn’t pick this one ever myself, too much coconut. But we made a deal. Merilynn gets the coconut half, I get the coconut free half.
This one, without the coconut, is just a little too simple for me and does not live up to their normal “Gourmet” standards. The mango flavored fondant tasted fine but it needed something else, just not coconut.
The chocolate raspberry.
We have some good elements going on in this doughnut.
The chocolate fudge, a raspberry drizzle, a raspberry flavored crumble and some freeze dried raspberries. Overall a really great combo.
However, both of these donuts felt more dense than usual. And that “denseness” gave both donuts a feeling they weren’t as fresh as they could have been.
While today’s offering from YGD weren’t the best, I will still rate them as some of the best in Vancouver.
