Cafe Log

I’ve recently been praising the new After Hours Cafe on 6th as a great coffee spot.

The coffee itself is good but I particularly like the vibe. The coffee will undoubtedly get better.

Another cafe in New Westminster I didn’t learn about until recently is Cafe Log. I walk by it five days a week, but I knew it as Snowy Village. Apparently it switched to Cafe Log at the end of 2025.

It’s unfortunate I didn’t know about it sooner — they make excellent coffee.

I ordered the usual cappuccino, and it brought me right back to our time in Italy earlier this year: a perfectly balanced milk-to-espresso ratio with a rich, superb coffee flavour.

It was so good, in fact, we went back for another later in the day. The second wasn’t quite as good as the first, but it wasn’t far off — the flavour was there, the foam was just a little off.

The atmosphere isn’t as warm or inviting as some other cafes; I see no change from the previous establishment. That said, it’s conveniently right at the SkyTrain platform.

Unfortunately, they don’t open till noon, so you won’t get a coffee on the way to work. But they do stay open a bit later than other cafes.

Cafe Log, ridiculous name aside, makes great coffee. Check it out next time you’re around New West Station and need a caffeine boost.

10/10
