On the way home this afternoon I walked by a food truck parked on Columbia and it smelled absolutely fantastic.
They advertise as Balkan Style BBQ. Not sure what that meant, I figured we had to try it.
I hopped online to research Balkan BBQ and their food truck came back as the top result. And it’s an excellent website. They list their upcoming locations and hours for the week, and they’ve posted their menu in case you want to pre-order.
They serve burgers, crepes, hot dogs and Ćevapi, a delicious Balkan sausage. But I just feel like a good burger today.
We are both getting the Smash burger, Merilynn a single and me a double, with bacon.
Cheese is included, then once the burger is ready they call you over and you can customize your burger from a wide selection of toppings and condiments. There’s a couple of Balkan-style dressings that I have never heard of.
I topped my double Smash burger with the usual fixings plus urnebes, a Serbian dressing.
This burger wowed me. Incredible flavour, a great char on the meat, fresh toppings. The urnebes added a little heat.
There are some great burgers around New West. Burger Heaven and IT Char come to mind. But this just might be the best one.
