We are in and around Vanderhoof for a wedding, and this morning we popped into the wonderful Bakerij Lobell for a morning pastry. I did a review of them, which you can find here.
We are going to need something for lunch though, and even though the Airbnb has a pretty well-stocked kitchen, we don’t really want to do a lot of cooking.
There’s not a lot going on in Vanderhoof when it comes to food. There are some fast food joints, which we will avoid unless we’re 70 days out from our last meal. But there is some good-looking pizza. And it’s in a really cute spot, Cozy Corner Pizza, conveniently located about 20 steps from the bakery.
And while it is a nice-looking restaurant to eat at, we are just going to haul ass back to the Airbnb to relax before we have to head off to the wedding.
After checking with everyone about their pizza preference, Hawaiian was the unanimous choice.
Now I’m pretty used to 90-second-fired Neapolitan pies, so when I found out it was going to be 45 minutes to get our pizza I was a little surprised.
And, to make it worse, there was nobody else in the place when I got there to pick it up; I’m not sure why the pizza took so long. That’s ok though. We don’t have much to do for a few hours.

A decent-looking pizza.
It was thin crust with a good amount of toppings. Looks a bit like Me and Ed’s to me, actually.
The quality of the ingredients were good as well.
Based on the undercarriage, I would guess they are not cooking at a particularly hot temperature. It was fine, but I wouldn’t mind a little more char on the bottom.
In Vancouver, this would be a better than average pizza. Here in Vanderhoof, I’m going to go ahead and call this the best pizza in town. Though with only two options, and the other being Pizza Pizza, that’s not a particularly high bar to meet.
