Today I found myself getting off the SkyTrain in New West, and I was rather hungry. As I had a couple of errands to run before heading home, I thought I would stop and get myself a quick bite.
Just about every day, at the bottom of the escalator at the 8th Street exit of the New West SkyTrain Station, you will find the Tandem Hot Dog Stand.
Merilynn and I have stopped in a few times over the last couple of years, and it’s always been pretty good.
As usual when here, I got a bratwurst.
It’s freshly grilled and served on a nice, fresh, toasted bun. I always get it with onions, and then of course mustard. Because what’s a bratwurst without mustard?
The bratwurst does cost a little bit more than a regular hot dog. In fact, you can get a hot dog, chips, and a pop for the same price as just the bratwurst. If you’re looking for value that’s probably the way to go. Me? I’ll take flavour over value anytime.
A nice quick snack while I’m on the go running some errands this afternoon. Th only thing that would improve this is an ice cold pilsner.
Can’t go wrong for nine bucks.
