One thing a lot of tourists do in Florence is hit the Mercato Centrale. The lower floor is a public market, catering to both locals and tourists alike. If you have been to Granville Island in Vancouver you’ll know roughly what I mean.

There is a whole second floor that is a food hall. Lots of different options here, including the other famous sandwich, the lamprodotto. It’s tripe, which I don’t particularly care for. We were here early in the morning so it wasn’t too busy.

I walked through later in the day, right around lunch. You could hardly move.
The one thing we did find to try was a lobster tail at La Sfogliatelle Neapolitan. They have quite a nice selection of pastries.

Our Raspberry lobster tail.

Of all the sfogliatelle we have had on this trip this was my favorite. I find that they usually put too much cream into the shells and it’s usually too rich.
The cream was lighter in this one, but here was still too much of it.
And at €8 it was by far the most pricey.
They must be making a killing in this place
