Gordon Ramsey Burger

Does anyone have Gordon’s phone number?

I need to call him so I can complain.

We stopped in at the casino in Coquitlam to lose a little money and grab a quick bite. We discovered, to our disappointment, that the donkey took his Lobster Roll off the menu.

This comes after our last visit, when the idiot sandwich took the Sticky Toffee Pudding milkshake off the menu.

But we were already seated, and I’m not a fan of the other food options at this casino, so we had to try something.

The 24-hour burger looked alright.

Tender, braised short ribs are piled high on a beef patty and then topped with candied bacon. The pickled shallots and cold brew vinaigrette add freshness that helps cut through all that richness.

The short ribs were fantastic. Unfortunately, the chef killed that burger patty. Well, well overdone. With all the flavours and layers going on, it was less noticeable than it would be in other burgers. But I expect more from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. Having said that, I’ve never really enjoyed a Ramsay burger.

We had a couple non alcoholic drinks.

A Lavender Lemonade.

Just the right amount of tart with a floral hint from the lavender. Very refreshing.

Blackberry Iced Tea.

Real brewed tea with a balanced blackberry note. The better of the two drinks.

It’s really too bad about the Lobster Roll. It was a thing of beauty. Now I have no reason to come back.

What we really need is a Hell’s Kitchen in Vancouver. The Las Vegas one was fantastic. You can read my review here.
