So if you like having your food chucked at you on plastic plates and being crammed in like cattle this is the place for you.
But it’s also pretty authentic Chinese food, at least for this part of the world anyways.
Shrimp and pork wonton soup.
Chicken potstickers
Chow Mein with beef in black bean sauce.
One word review – Meh
The soup was really the only food part of this meal for me. It had good flavour throughout both soup and wontons. Ok.
The potstickers. Now I’ve really enjoyed these in the past. Today, they were bland. And lukewarm. Meh.
The chow mein? If that’s black bean sauce then I’m Xi Jinping and I have a big wall to sell you.
This whole dish was very underwhelming. The noodles were overcooked. And the sauce not very black bean-y. Blah.
Today was not a good day at Han Lin. But they are not the same as they used to be under the old Hon’s Wun Tun house. It’s a shame too. The old place was wonderful, even if they do chuck the food at you.
Food 5/10

Based on my last few experiences of chinese food in the Vancouver area I think I’m gonna have to head to Shanghai to get some proper chinese.
