Queensborough BC
A friend told us about a pub in Queensborough with excellent food. We had an errand or two to run in the area so while we were out that way we headed over to Frankie G’s.
I don’t want to hammer on this place too hard. Hmm, this is gonna be difficult.
To start, we drove right by it. I knew pretty much exactly where it was, but it’s a very non descript building. And what an odd place for a pub, considering all the great real estate around it. Anyone with a good arm could probably chuck a ball into the river from the deck, but with all the highrises and townhouses around the only water to be seen was in the glass sitting in front of us. Why not get down by the river and have a nice deck over the water? We did have a wonderful view of the side of the boxcars that rolled past us though.
The pub itself. Picture pretty much any average pub you’ve ever been in. Do you get the idea?
The food? The Bellini was good. The Nacho’s? Fine. The $8 for the guac on the side a bit much though.
The deck? If it’s more than 20 degrees outside just don’t. If a train decides to go by really don’t
Let’s just say we were pretty nonplussed about the whole experience.
Food 6/10
Ambiance 4/10
Overall 5/10
If you want an average pub in a crappy location this is the place for you.
