Tarranello

We tried to get into Tarranello our first night in Rome but they basically had closed the door as we were walking up. Not a lot places open past 11 it seems, even in the Eternal city.

We have an hour to kill before our train to Orvieto, and since it’s right next door, we decided to spend our last hour in Rome eating here.

Even though it’s a chiché I went with a classic, Carbonara.

Always a tricky dish, even they had a few cheese clumps. However the proper flavour was there. It was rich and flavourful. Some would call it salty. I understand the dish.

Merilynn decided on Pince, a flatbread.

Let’s just call it what it is, a pizza.

Chicory and sausage on a tomato based flatbread. Tasty, very tasty. But a bit overdone. They don’t cut pizza or flatbreads for you here like they do in Canada. So trying to saw through that crust was a little tricky. We managed though and enjoyed the taste.

Good service here and they spoke some English so ordering wasn’t too tricky.

Decent meal for a decent price. But not overly memorable.
