Vancouver BC
If you look up the best breakfast in Vancouver Jam Cafe shows up on the list.
Same in Victoria, where the first Jam Cafe started.
I’ve been before, but never could get in.
There seems to always be a line up to get in. And I’m not waiting 30 minutes in the cold for food.
I was solo this morning so managed to get in pretty quickly because I didn’t mind sitting at the bar. Not the best seat in the house but whatever.
The name of this restaurant has two meanings. One would be the reference to Jam as a breakfast condiment.
The second would be regarding the amount of space inside. It’s not very big.
But it’s worth it.
This is the Blackstone Benny, my all-time favorite style of Benny.
What made this Benny one of the best I’ve ever had was the sugar cured bacon. It added an incredible depth to the dish. It was perfectly crispy. A little parmesan never hurts either. Eggs were bang on. Couldn’t be better poached.
The atmosphere in the place is great. It’s lively, and while it’s tight, it’s not so tight to be uncomfortable.
The Jam Cafe is only open for breakfast and lunch. And make sure you get there early so you don’t have to wait so long.
I highly recommend going.
