Toronto On
So here we are in Toronto and we are kicking a week of food exploration with a coffee. Not at Starbucks.
As we walked down Bloor St we found Coffee Tree. As we have been on the go since 3 am a hit of caffeine sounds like just the thing we need to perk us up.
Coffee Tree roasts their own bean right in store. And it’s a nice little shop with a pleasant interior.
The coffee was quite good. Nice amount of foam and well balanced vanilla.
For a quick snack we tried the chocolate pecan shortbread. Idea is great. Never heard of that combo. But it was too dry. Like really dry. Would be good to have it with tea to dip.
And an old standby. Nanaimo bar. Shoddy photo I know.
Not the best example of this treat I’ve had. Often the icing layer is too sweet. This one was not sweet enough. It was rather bland actually.
So here’s my suggestion. Have coffee here. Get your treats at Janchenko’s bakery down the block. Watch for that review coming soon.
