I’m not much of a sandwich guy.
I think part of it goes to the foodie in me. 2 pieces of bread with some meat in between. Not too exciting.
Part of it also goes to the professional baker in me. It takes a pretty special loaf of bread to wow me. I’ve baked a lot of bread in my time.
But I had a sandwich here that wowed me.
The Ariccia is Porchetta, caramelized onions, arugula and balsamic vinegar. I had it on a fresh baked focaccia.
This sandwich is amazing. All the flavours came together perfectly. Only thing I should have done was get some provolone on it. And I could eat that focaccia every day.
And as a bonus they have Sfogliatella!
AKA lobster tails.
A wonderfully crispy pastry with pastry cream inside. Raspberry today. One must appreciate the technical wonderment this pastry is. Something I haven’t actually tried to make. But I will.
They also have a small selection of pastas and other Italian foods. Plus pizzas, take home lasagne and espresso. Watch for future reviews on those. Because I will be back.
