New West BC
IMHO the food scene in New West generally sucks.
My daughter and I tried to go for lunch today. I already know that Pizza Ludica doesn’t open til 4pm. Guys come on. On the weekend even? You got great pizza but your hours suck.
So we tried to go for Indian. One of the spots is already out of business. Royal Tandoor seems to have followed in the footsteps as Pizza Ludica.
As I haven’t tried The Met yet and we are running out of time off we go.
Seeing the pizza oven as we walked in my hopes for a pizza today that were dashed by Pizza Ludica were suddenly reinvigorated.
This is their Hawaiian. Though it’s not like any Hawaiian I’ve seen before. That goo that you see on top is a Jalapeno ranch sauce. Unfortunately you don’t know that the pizza is coming with the goo as it isn’t on the menu. Had I known I would have asked for it without the goo.
However, it wasn’t terrible. In fact overall the pizza was pretty good. It’s not Neopolitan, it’s not New York. I lookt was in the oven for maybe a minute too long I think. Some parts of the crust were a bit too burnt. When it was hot the sauce had a pleasant bite. Different story when I had a piece at home a couple hours later. At that point the sauce just overwhelmed any other flavours and to be frank, was inedible.
I also got the Garlic Cream Bucattini to go, no photo unfortunately. It was quite good. Even with the shrooms, which I of course picked around. I would have liked a bit more sauce, it was a bit dry. But great flavour and well cooked pasta.
