Roseland Cafe

Abbotsford BC

So the idea this morning was to hit up a 50s dinner with what is supposed to be really good food

The wait time was 45 minutes at the dinner. I dont care how good it is I’m not waiting 45 minutes to eat. I doubt I’d even wait 45 minutes to eat at Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant. Ya ok I would.

So what’s close?

The Roseland Cafe was just up the road and the menu offerings looked somewhat promising.

Upon entering through I had misgivings. I should have listened to my gut.

It took me a few minutes to figure out the vibe of the place. So think a slightly remodeled Greek/Italian/Pizza place. If your from Vancouver you might remember Royal Oak Pizza or Bozzini’s.

And I’d put the food at about that level too

We had the breakfast wrap. It was edible. Barely. The sour cream helped me get it down.

Sophia had a Benny. The eggs were poached right. Nice and soft. The plate had more flavour than the Hollandaise. Can you say packet sauce anyone. You know, it’s not like Hollandaise is hard to make.

Oh well. Next time we are in Abby we will leave more time for the 50s place.

Food 4/10

Ambiance 2/10

Overall 3/10

Keep on driving…….
