I’ll admit right up front Greek food, at least North American Greek food, is one of my least favorite cuisines.
I’ve heard it’s better in Greece. But every Greek restaurant I’ve ever been to in North America has essentially the same menu.
Some just do it better than others.
And one of the better ones is My Greek Taverna.
Not everything here is great. I don’t like the tile floors and the low ceilings. When it gets busy, which is does most nights, the noise sometimes becomes unbearable.
My go to at a Greek restaurant as usually the Roast Lamb.
I stopped ordering Avgolemono soup. I can do it better than any Greek restaurant I’ve been to.
The Saganaki here is very good. But it’s 15 bucks. I can do that at home too.
So I’ll just stick with the lamb tonight.
I was impressed with the portion size. It’s today’s world of shrinkflation just about everywhere you go they gave me a huge piece of meat. It was so tender and flavourful.
Toss the olive aside and everything was fantastic.
The service was wonderful and we were early enough the noise level was bearable.
