Pajo’s

Port Moody BC

I finally made it to Rocky Point park this summer.

I’ve always wanted to go to try the fish and chips as the Pajo’s in Steveston is the best fish and chips in the lower mainland. But who wants to drive to Steveston for God Sakes?

And who knew there was a pier that’s probably better than the one in White Rock?

Both times we’ve been it’s been busy but not packed. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for our order each time.

The first visit we had just one piece of salmon and one piece of halibut. Both were fantastic. I am a big fan of Cockney Kings here in the West but I’m sorry guys, Pajo’s is just a little bit better.

The second time we went we had a three-piece with chips. One cod, one salmon and one halibut. Excellent again.

I do believe this is some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Thin crispy batter and cooked perfectly both times.

And it’s seconds fresh out of the fryer.

Next time we will try the snapper.

Really really nice.

As for price? I would recommend getting the three-piece and chips. We paid about the same both times. And the second time we got chips and a third piece of fish. Much better value.

Yes I will still keep going to Cockney Kings. I think the Rocky Point location is only open during the summer and Steveston is just too far away even if it is the best fish and chips.

If you do go to Steveston though stop at the Scottish shop and get some haggis!

Food 9/10
