Off for pasta again.
Meatballs to start. They were very soft, but perhaps the meatball itself was a little bland. However with the marinara all the flavours came together. I like my meatballs stewed in the marinara like I do at home. But they were still nice.
Carbonara Mafalda with chicken. Notice something wrong? Ya that’s more like Fettuccini. Tonight was not as good as it usually is. Can’t put my finger on what was wrong with it. Perhaps too dry. But something not quite right. But not terrible either.
I also got to try my friends veal. Now I don’t mind veal, but don’t normally order it. I just feel a little funny about eating baby cows. But if it’s really good whatever. This wasn’t. Actually it was so bad I wondered if perhaps the chef confused it with beef liver tonight. It sure had a liver taste and consistency. But he liked it so who knows. I’ll keep sticking with bigger cows I think.
All in all it was not their best effort tonight. We have heard there are new owners now. I don’t know when that change happened but it’s not uncommon for a restaurant’s quality to decline after an ownership change. Will keep a watch on it.
