While my favorite pizza is Neopolitan style, I have been forcing myself to make sure I’m trying other styles as well.
Bella Pizza caught my eye tonight
First thing I noticed was the dough ball to keep the box off the cheese, rather than the miniature three legged plastic table they normally use. I thought it was a neat idea. If you happen to be of the “save the enviroment persuasion” then you’ll appreciate the use of something other than an oil derived piece of plastic to keep the cheese off the box. I just think it’s clever.
Life hack tip: Turn the normally used plastic Pizza Saver upside down and use it as your phone stand next time your reading a recipe or watching a video on your phone.
As for the pizza. It came out of the box looking good. We had a custom job tonight. Ham, Bacon, Capicollo, Caramelized onions and pineapple.
The one thing I just couldn’t shake while eating it was how much it reminded me of a frozen grocery store pizza. It just didn’t come across as fresh. It had a good undercarriage, but the crust was unevenly pressed. It also seemed like the cheese didn’t melt properly.
Overall I wasn’t impressed, to the point I won’t even be giving it a second chance. There’s too many pizza joints out there to try.
