Saturday night out.

I gave my buddy 4 suggestions for dinner. He picked the closet one lol.

That’s ok. I like Joey.

Let’s start with their gyoza, usually very good.

They didn’t disappoint. I think these are probably better than any Japanese restaurant I’ve been in. The hot mustard and Soy are a beautiful complement.

For dinner I went big. Crab Cakes. Money big not portion size.

Crab, shrimp and corn with a homemade tartar. Apple fennel salad on the side.

The Crab Cake was very nice. The flavour was mild but enhanced by the crispy outside layer. I didn’t notice the corn present so much in this version. (Watch for my review about Earls Crab Cake in the next couple days.) But overall really good. But your gonna pay for it. $32. Yikes.

The Apple fennel salad was very refreshing. And didn’t overpower the crab cake, which would be easy since it’s so mild.

Portion sizes here aren’t large. My friend enjoyed his Chicken Parm. There just wasn’t enough of it. But hey he’s 6’6″. He needs lots of food. But the quality is there.

Food 8/10

Value 7/10

Ambiance 8/10

Overall 8/10
