New Westminster BC
Just a block away from New West SkyTrain station is a pretty amazing burger joint.
Since 1985 Burger Heaven has been serving up what some consider to be the best burger in Vancouver.
The place is pretty neat. From the Mile High burger challenge eaters wall of shame to the 80s decor that hasn’t changed one iota, you will feel some nostalgia being here.
They apparently have a “Choose your candidate by burger vote” during elections. I’ve have heard that this informal poll has never been wrong, though I have not yet verified that.
I had the breakfast burger.
Bacon and eggs on a beef burger. Salad on the side. Strawberry vinaigrette dressing.
I’m not sure if you can judge the size of this burger, but it’s big. What surprised me most was that I ate the whole thing.
Yes it was that good.
The patty was juicy and really hot. The bacon crispy. If you haven’t had an egg on your burger you’re missing out.
The salad was fresh, and the dressing sweet and tangy. Really nice.
I’ve had a few memorable burgers over the years. Whalburger and Bobby Flays come to mind. And the one I make myself. Burger Heaven will probably be in that discussion. I’ll give it another try to make sure but as of my first one, thumbs up.
Bonus points for the great old music playing.
