Somewhere on the Juan de Fuca straight, BC
Killing time on the boat. Victoria is beautiful city, but getting there blows.
An hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back.
For first timers I’m sure the trip is great. But for me time stands as still as how slow the boat seems to be sailing.
So we stand in line for a bite. On land the White Spot is an average chain with ok food at not unreasonable prices. On water? Different story.
Appearances can be deceiving. Looks ok right? It’s not. The English muffin was toasted. 4 days ago. I could barely cut through it. The Hollandaise was as bland as a Hannah Gadsby comedy routine. The eggs were cooked ok, but pretty flavour less. And I’m sure the potatoes were crispy at some point.
The tastiest thing on the plate was the green onions. Sad but true.
Maybe the burgers are better?
Food Blah
Value 6/10
Ambiance Ok I’m looking at Mayne Island and another ferry passing. I’ll give you points for that one BC Ferries. 8/10
Overall 6/10
Maybe try the burger. Or in a pinch there is a vending machine with chips in it
Editor’s note:
I’m not going to bother dedicating a whole post to it but on the way back we tried the fries and gravy as well. Skip those too.
