The Carvery is a little sandwich shop in South Surrey. Yes it’s Surrey all you snobs who think you live in White Rock. You don’t!
I have a slightly jaded opinion about the owner of the Carvery. He purchases buns from our bakery to use in the shop and we have had a few run ins over the years. This past week was another fine example of him being an ass. They ordered 5 dozen buns and never bothered to pick them up. Three guesses as to who eats that cost.
The jerk notwithstanding, his sandwiches are excellent.
I often get the beef dip, today being no exception.
I understand that all the meats are smoked in house. He gets all his bread elsewhere though.
The beef dip was great. Garlic aioli is a really nice addition, and the au jus very tasty.
He usually is just open for lunch, so go early.
Even with my dislike for the owner I do recommend a visit for lunch here.

While it is very good it’s not cheap. But hey, the quality is worth it to me.
