I love BBQ. I mean really love it. I keep trying to find good BBQ here. It’s not quite like Texas where you need to go a block or two to find good BBQ. It’s hard.
So far the best for me in Greater Vancouver is the Butchers Block in Burnaby.
Tonight was Highlights by Re-up.
First thing. Biscuit? Corn Bread people! Thought the biscuit was ok though. But $3 for an extra one? Seriously guys…
The brisket was tender, though a bit too fatty for my liking. What I really did like was the mild kick it had. Really zinged it up nicely.
The pulled pork was good, but I’m not gonna write home about it.
The beans were not great. Too much molasses, and no sweetness at all. A very flat tasting baked bean.
I’m not a big coleslaw guy, but honestly I didn’t mind it. It wasn’t too saucy.
Overall it was ok. But no one from Texas is gonna think so.
