New West BC
I learned about Bingsoo about a year ago. Then promptly forgot about it. Today the idea popped back into my head. Better try it before I forget about it again.
Zero expectations going in. No idea what I’m in for other than I’ve seen pictures of it with fruit.
This is Mango Bingsoo.
If you are unfamiliar with it, it’s shaved ice with sweet milk and toppings. There are lots of varieties, For times sake I’m not going to go into all of them here.
First impression, it’s really good. I really enjoyed the tart mango with the sweet shaved ice. I also had an opportunity to try the strawberry one. I didn’t find the flavours worked as well as the mango though.
It is fairly expensive, but the portion size is large, too large actually, and I only had a small. I should think two people could share one and be content. I’d never even consider ordering a large.
On one of those upcoming heat wave days this would be a lovely treat to help cool you off a bit.
I’m trying the watermelon next….
