New Westminster BC
We met some friends here for some appies and drinks.
Let me just say, underwhelming.
The gyoza were not seared as advertised. The filling was very bland. Do they not season the filling at all? The sesame Ginger sauce did taste ok. It had a little bit of a kick to it, but it wasnt good enough to make this dish worth getting again.
Every restaurant of this class seems to have a dynamite roll on the menu these days. I’ve had this at both Earls and Cactus Club.
This one is pretty good. The tempura prawn was nice and crispy, but I’ll give the nod on the sauces to the Earls one. Overall the flavours were balanced and the soy sauce was a nice compliment.
The restaurant is modern and the staff were very good.
And the House red wine? Surprisingly good. No idea what it was though.
Food 6/10
Atmosphere 7/10
Overall 6/10
Not in any hurry to go back
