This shop opened up with pretty big fanfare. Line ups have been upwards of 2 hours or longer. For donuts! Having said that I do remember in my younger days driving to Burlington Washington when Krispy Kreme first opened up there.
We tried for a couple weeks to get some of them, but I’m not about to wait for any longer than about 10 minutes for donuts. And I do consider myself a donut lover and expert, being a baker and all. I have certainly fried my share over the years.
Finally after 3 weeks I was able to get in without too much. I l must admit they do look great.
The flavour combinations were very nice. Banana Split, Raspberry Pistachio, Strawberry Vanilla. I didn’t weigh it but the banana split one was probably close to half a pound. For me the dough was more dense than I like. I prefer a lighter, airy dough. But the taste of all charities was good.
At around $4 each they are pricey, but overall quality is there. Just not quite to my preference.
Not sure we will be back.
