Morgan City LA

As we are driving from Avery Island, having loaded up on some Tabasco, Merilynn asks me to figure out lunch.
A quick search of Google finds a highly recommended Po Boy place in Morgan city on the way to New Orleans.
We roll up to a rather dilapidated old house in a residential neighborhood.
A quick double check to make sure it’s the right stop then we head inside.
In the front two rooms are crammed 6 tables with barely room to move in between them.
But wow this was well worth it.
The Gumbo. Excellent. The Po Boy we shared was half shrimp half catfish. A very large portion. Well cooked with a very fresh bun. The pecan pie was, well simply put, I don’t think it can get better than this.
If you love a small, hole in the wall type food joint you better come here. Especially for the pie.
